Good to know
- Transparent WebP regions are flattened onto the chosen background.
- Animated WebP files are decoded as a single frame — animation is not preserved.
- Quality 85–92% is a sensible default; go lower only if size matters more than detail.
WebP → JPG
WebP is efficient but not universally accepted. Convert it to JPEG here, with a background colour for any transparency and a quality you control.
Your files are processed in this browser tab. Nothing is uploaded, stored or logged.
Only used by JPEG and WebP output.
Transparent areas are filled with this colour in JPEG.
Some older editors, print workflows and upload forms still reject WebP. JPEG is accepted almost everywhere, at the cost of a larger file and no transparency.
Pixel dimensions stay the same. The file size depends on the quality you choose and on the content; photos usually compress well, screenshots less so.
Every current browser can decode WebP. If decoding fails, the tool reports it and does not produce a download.
Animated WebP is not supported. The browser decodes the first frame, so treat animation as out of scope here.
